How do I create MySQL or MariaDB database?

Create database using MySQL® Databases

Step 1: Login to cPanel

Step 2. Enter your username and password. Click the blue login button to log in to the main cPanel page.

Step 3. Once you’re logged in, locate the "Databases" section of cPanel. Within, there is an icon for "MySQL® Databases". Click on the “MySQL® Databases" icon.

Step 4. In MySQL® Databases under Create New Database, enter your database name. After entering the name, click Create Database.

Step 5. After you create the database, click the Go Back link on the next page.

Step 6. Your MySQL Database has been created and will appear in the Current Databases table.

Step 7. (Optional): You can now add users and define privilege or access. You can also view it via phpMyAdmin which is under “Databases” section of cPanel.

Create database using MySQL® Database Wizard

Step 1: Login to cPanel

Step 2. Enter your username and password. Click the blue login button to log in to the main cPanel page.

Step 3. Once you’re logged in, locate the "Databases" section of cPanel. Within, there is an icon for “MySQL® Database Wizard". Click on the “MySQL® Database Wizard " icon.

Step 4. In MySQL® Database Wizard do the following:

  • Next to New Database enter a name for your database and click Next Step.
  • Next to Username enter a username. Enter a password next to Password, enter it again for Password (Again) and then click Create User.
  • On the next page, you'll assign privileges for the user to the database. Check the box next to All Privileges and then click Next Step.

Step 5. You can now view it via phpMyAdmin which is under “Databases” section of cPanel.
