How to Export MySQL Database using phpMyAdmin Custom Export Method?

Step 1: Login to cPanel

Step 2: Enter your username and password. Click the blue login button to log in to the main cPanel page.

Step 3. Once you’re logged in, locate the "Databases" section of cPanel. Within, there is an icon for "phpMyAdmin". Click on the “phpMyAdmin " icon.

Step 4. In “phpMyAdmin” screen select the database using the left menu.

Step 5. Click “export” button in the tabs along the top of the screen.

Step 6. Click on the radial button for Custom.

Step 7. Next Steps

  • Tables: Choose which tables to export.
  • Output: Choose the template, character set, and compression for the export.
  • Format: Choose to display comments, enclose the export in a transaction, disable foreign key checks, dump table (structure, data, or both).
  • Object creation options: Add statements.
  • Data dump options: Use INSERT DELAYED or INSERT IGNORE statements, select the function to use when dumping data, select the syntax to use when inserting data, maximal length of created query.

Step 8. Next, you will need to click on the format of the export file. By default, it should be on SQL, so you don't need to change anything. The phpMyAdmin export process allows you to export into these formats: SQL, CVS, CodeGen, CVS, JSON, YAML and many more.

Step 9. Click on the Go button in order to perform the export.

Step 10. You will be prompted to either open or save the file. Please select the option to save the file and then save the somewhere you'll remember (such as directly on your desktop).
